Registering Complaints With MTNL Customer Care Can Be Messy – A Nice Alternative – Do It Yourself Online – MTNL Customer Care HACKED4/12/2011
Undoubtedly MTNL if not the best, is the cheapest (in terms of money I mean) Telecom Provider, at least in the Delhi and Mumbai region, since I put up at Delhi, I am much more aware about the situations here, you will definitely have to ignore downtimes caused due to rains, because MTNL has an old connection with them, secondly you will have to get used to old hags those are appointed as lineman, they keep on chewing on that red shit, smells awful, and yes you will even have to talk to the idiots sitting at their help lines, though some of them are really helpful, rest are just a bunch of assholes, maybe it’s something to do with “Job Satisfaction”!..
I won’t complain about queues and other problems because, now I clear bills online (Thank You God for giving brains to some nerds developed Credit Cards…). Next the modem, the call it CPE (Customer Premises Equipment), is at par with what Airtel Broadband services use, so if it is faulty, then MTNL cannot be blamed, shell out more money and buy a Belkin or Netgear.
Coming to the point, recently I got access to a server with IP Address 126.96.36.199 this server is being used by the Customer service Reps to register all the land line and broadband complaints. Time to start some hacking… :P
- directly going to 188.8.131.52 will lead you to a Red Hat Linux, this isn’t what we are looking for
- I searched a bit with standard ports and found that they were using 7777 as their interface port so our web address becomes 184.108.40.206:7777, this will show you the internal use note, who cares
- you just need to access the vcare directory (I remember this because I think there was this link on the main website, but it was removed/hidden because it was subjected to abuse), so we need to go to 220.127.116.11:7777/vcare, here you will find bunch of executable JSPs (because developers at MTNL are a bunch of assholes too, they do not know that the server will execute just index.htm/php/shtml/html, but not JSPs, so search for index.jsp)
- you are almost there the page looks nice, left side is the menu you need, register complaints and check status (of all the landlines belonging to the MTNL network) that means if any of the landline is dead you can register your complaints from anywhere in the world, try this on your phone too.
Screen Shot of customer care portal:
Again For those who skipped the content you need to CLICK HERE to get to the online portal and register complaints instead of wasting time on the phone for the people to pick it up.
Hope I saved you loads of time you would have wasted calling the customer to register just a silly complaint.
PS: Say thanks to me… :P
